Superhero Weekend at Playland-Not-At-The-Beach! August 1, 2009

On Saturday and Sunday, August 1-2 Playland-Not-At-The-Beach is celebrating Superhero Weekend. Whether you believe Superman sizzles or Batman is the bravest or Wonder Woman is in charge, you will love our tribute to all the famous superheroes. There will be Super Hero films playing and a very special Hero and Villain adventure hunt where guests not only need to scour our museum to find all the hidden heroes but also avoid all the super villains that are hiding! In addition, every child (and adults too!) that comes dressed as a superhero will get a special prize.
The special events of Super Hero Weekend are in addition to all of Playland's regular attractions. Guests pay one low price to enter and can play all day: $10 for children and seniors, and $15 for general admission. Playland-Not-At-The-Beach is a nonprofit Museum of Fun. Designed and built entirely by volunteers, the 20+ interactive exhibits celebrate the magic and history of America's bygone amusements -- circuses, carnivals, magic, sides shows, penny arcades, amusement devices, pinball arcades, haunted houses, and beautiful art everywhere. Our goal is to educate newer generations about the bygone days and allow those who remember Whitney's Playland and the Sutro Baths the opportunity to recapture the glorious sights and sounds of that marvelous era.
