Mardi Gras Indians hit the streets for their big day.

The Mardi Gras Indian Tribes in their annual festival/parade. This year's Super Sunday features the Hot 8 Brass Band, Big "Al" Carson, Stooges Brass Band, The Troop, Young Men Olympians, Lady Buckjumpers, D.J. Jubilee, B.R.W. Singing Group , Jo "Cool" Davis, and DJ Captain Charles.

The festival starts on Sunday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Park at Washington Ave. and S. Derbigny St. The parade starts at 1:00p.m. at Washington Ave. and LaSalle St. and the route moves onto Simon Bolivar, turns left onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., then left onto S. Galvez, then back to Washington Avenue. The parade culminates at Taylor Park with more cultural activities and performances. Super Sunday 2008 Honorees are Big Chief "Lil" Charles Taylor of the White Cloud Hunters and Queen Barbara Wallace Sparks. Past Super Sunday 2007 Honorees are Mrs. Joyce Montana, widow of the late and legendary Chief Allison "Tootie" Montana, and Big Chief "Bo" Dollis of the Wild Magnolias.
