Union Sq., San Francisco- January 1, 2011- Sandra Lee Gallery is proud celebrate the month of love with an exhibition titled 'Love and Compassion'. The show will feature work of collaboration between artists Sunnyo Lee and Dong Phan, and will be on view February 1st-26th with an opening reception for the public on Thursday, February 10th from 5:30-7:30pm.

San Francisco artists Dong Phan and Sunnyo Lee have been collaborating over several years and have come together to express the emotions of 'Love and Compassion' on canvas. Just in time for the month of St. Valentine, Sandra Lee Gallery will be alive with the red and gold of passion.

This theme of compassion is contemplated throughout out the exhibition and transcends the connection between the self and others. Says Sunnyo Lee, "When we deeply contemplate our own self, the ego disappears, we are interacting with all living beings, there is no me-ness or you-ness". This idea is revealed in Phan's 'Yes and No' and 'Yin and Yang' paintings as well as Lee's Compassion Series.

Joining our opening celebration, the Bay Area's innovative and celebrated poets have been invited to read their poems of 'Love". This special program will be an enchanting evening bringing in the New Year with love and peace on earth.
