Driven by a racist ideology legitimized by German scientists, the Nazis attempted to eliminate all of Europe’s Jews and other “inferior” races as well as to cleanse German society of individuals viewed as threats to the “health of the nation.” Dr. Peter Haas, Abba Hillel Silver, Professor of Jewish Studies and Director of the Samuel Rosenthal Center for Judaic Studies at Case Western Reserve University, attempts to answer the question “How did medicine go so wrong?”
