The City of Boroondara is proud to present the 2012 Summertime Cinema series, featuring three free outdoor movie screenings to enjoy. Taking place across three consecutive Saturdays in December, Summertime Cinema will be held in various parks and gardens.

The second film in the series, Shrek, will be screened at Greythorn Park, Balwyn North on Saturday 8 December, 8:30pm. Shrek tells the story of a grumpy green ogre whose solitary life in the swamp is disrupted by the nasty work of Lord Farquaad. To get his swamp back, Shrek must go on a journey to find and rescue the fair Princess Fiona. Featuring the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, this family favourite takes fairy tales to new heights with adventure and witty humor that will have both children and parents rolling with laughter.

Summertime Cinema is free to attend and is the perfect way to enjoy a balmy summer's night. Everyone is invited to bring along a blanket, pack a picnic, and settle in for a great night of entertainment in the fantastic surrounds in one of Boroondara's beautiful open spaces.

Greythorn Park is within walking distance of bus and tram routes along Greythorn Road. Limited street parking is available.
