The City of Boroondara is proud to present the 2012 Summertime Cinema series, featuring three free outdoor movie screenings to enjoy. Taking place across three consecutive Saturdays in December, Summertime Cinema will be held in various parks and gardens.

The first film in the series, Footloose, will be screened at Burwood Reserve, Burwood on Saturday 1 December, 8:30pm. Based on true events, this 80s cult favourite tells the story of a city teenager, Ren McCormack, who moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned. Starring Kevin Bacon and John Lithgow, this film will take audiences back through the memorable tunes and fancy footwork that have become synonymous with a generation.

Summertime Cinema is free to attend and is the perfect way to enjoy a balmy summer's night. Everyone is invited to bring along a blanket, pack a picnic, and settle in for a great night of entertainment in the fantastic surrounds in one of Boroondara's beautiful open spaces.

Burwood Reserve is within walking distance of the Tram 75 City (Spencer Street) to Vermont South Route on Warrigal Road. Limited street parking is available.
