Summer Stages Dance at Gaining Ground Gardens July 15, 2006

FREE DANCE PERFORMANCE

In the midst of Gaining Ground’s glorious gardens, renowned artists from Summer Stages Dance will perform a selection of contemporary choreography. Two of Concord’s groundbreaking organizations join together for a delightful afternoon celebrating the innovative spirit of this historic town!

Gaining Ground grows organic vegetables and fruit with the help of hundreds of community volunteers and donates all of this fresh food to area food pantries, meal programs, and shelters. Based in historic Concord, Massachusetts, Gaining Ground raises and distributes more than 25,000 pounds of produce each growing season. www.gainingground.org.

Summer Stages Dance at Concord Academy is a prestigious three-week performance and workshop series that has earned a distinctive reputation for its emphasis on mentorship and on the creation of new work, and for presenting leading contemporary dance artists in an acclaimed series of public events. The workshop takes place in a 2,500 square foot state-of-the-art dance studio and performance space designed by award-winning architect Graham Gund on the campus of Concord Academy, an independent secondary school where the per-forming and visual arts are a central part of the curriculum. www.summerstagesdance.org
