Visit the museum this summer holidays and join in with our fun drop-in activities! We will be making Suffolk rusks using an army field oven outside the watermill, pond-dipping in the mill pond, making butter and more.
On our activity pack days visitors can try out some new trails around the museum including on the 13th and 27th of August a CBBC Relic trail based on the CBBC programme “Relic, Guardians of the Museum”. You will need to solve puzzles around the museum to discover the surprising story behind one of the museum’s artefacts.
On the 28th of July the Sainsbury Centre from Norwich will be at the museum with artefacts for people to handle and art and craft activities. You will also be able to handle objects from the museum’s collections.
On the 8th of August there will be a Farming Day with old tools to handle, art activities, the opportunity to have a go at stone picking and bird scaring and even more.
The 22nd of August will see WW2 coming to the museum. Visitors will be able to see and touch real objects from the war. There will be evacuee crafts activities, a chance to see what a week’s ration looked like and much more.
Normal museum entry applies. There will be a small charge for the activities. No need to book.
