Gabriela Crowe - chanteuse and diva from the Avenues of Highland Park - stars in a cabaret show that uses opera, romantic Latin boleros and 60's pop to depict a doomed love affair that hurts so good. She is accompanied by the TC4 (from The Damselles), master flamenco guitarists, back-up singers and tango dancers. This is the latest cabaret from the creative team that sold out the Steve Allen Theater for a "Day of the Dead" cabaret last November - director Shelly Lyons and producer Ron Lynch (Home Movies, Sarah Silverman Program, Bob's Burgers).
Gabriela is a well respected soprano who frequently sings in zarzuelas in Los Angeles, with titular roles in Maria La O at the Alex Theater, Cecilia Valdes at the Carmen Zapata Theater and Luisa Fernanda at the Million Dollar Theater with the Opera Pacific Association. Gabriela's musical abilities run in the family - her brother Frank is a percussionist and her father Pepe was a child prodigy in his native Ecuador, and later performed with Pedro Infante. He also authored a book about tango legend Carlos Gardel, and still performs in Los Angeles.
