The San Francisco International Gift Fair is jointly managed and co-produced by Western Exhibitors, Inc. (on behalf of dmg world media) and George Little Management (GLM), LLC. The 29th semi-annual edition will run July 28-August 1, 2007, at The Moscone Center. The Fair will welcome approximately 17,500 retailers and present some 1,800 exhibitors throughout 17 divisions: Accent on Design®, At Home, Cash & Carry, Details®, Distinctive Lines, FoodFocus, GardenStyle, General Gift, Handmade®, The Jewelry Vaultsm, Just KidStuff®, The Museum Source®, Personal Accessories, PetStyle, Stationery & Trend, Village Arts and The Vintage Collection. The July 2007 SFIGF had a VERY pathetic and depressing buyer turnout! Empty aisles, few buyers, unhappy vendors discussing the fact they did not want to do participate in this event again. Slow economy? Poor publicity? Internet wholesale buying? No matter the reason for the poor attendance and buyer purchases, it was a complete disaster. The only ones who really benefited were the companies that put it on and duped small wholesale business owners. Read this blog for helpful advice:
