Sugar and Spice and Poetry, That's Nice December 9, 2012

Are you a poet and don't even know it? This course aims to provide you with the stepping stones that help you to explore your creative techniques using Poetry. We will discuss the tempo, tone and pitch and practise reading and reciting poems. The course aims to build the student's self confidence in reading and writing poetry and will enable student's to work in pairs, groups and on individual tasks. Participants will be able to write a variety of poems to explore personal interest, general knowledge and humour. The course will allow students to critically analyse poems, respond and interpret them through drawing, drama and dancing. There will be a range of opportunities to create an original anthology based on familiar rhymes and poems. No previous experience of poetry writing is required as activities will be designed to be fun and will allow everyone the opportunity to shine! This course is suitable for students in Years K to 2.
