VIC GODDARD & THE SUBWAY SECT
Without doubt one of the finest punk bands of the era, their first gig was the 100 Club Punk Festival with The Clash, Pistols and Damned, etc, on 20 September 1976. Edwyn Collins later described Vic Goddard as "the best songwriter of his generation". He says, "The Clash were more like a traditional rock group, but Subway Sect made a glorious racket. "
THE WILDEBEESTS
Members of the Kaisers, Milkshakes and Thanes combine their talents to become the Lairds of the Boss Racket. John, Russ and Lenny all cut their teeth playing raw beat music and generally causing a rumpus aurally, and when their paths crossed they found that they had the same old cranky, rusty equipment plus some new(ish) shiny tunes that had accumulated along the way, and the Wildebeests were born!
THE CREEPY MORONS
Claiming to only write songs about "women, drinking and death" (what else is there to write about, after all?!), this is grouchy, sludgy, rumbling, primal punk blues racket - imagine if The Cramps and The Black Keys spawned, and the offspring turned out to be a bear with a particularly sore head.
