The Loire Valley also known as the 'Garden of France' - is a land of plenty with generous vineyards, green hills and pastures, and is celebrated for its magnificent chateaux. The region takes us back to France's crucial moments in history and to some of its finest works of art. Angers, located on the river Maine is referred to as the gateway to the Loire Valley and was once the capital of the Anjou region. The wealth of its heritage has enabled Angers to obtain the prestigious 'Villes d'Art et d'Histoire' label, awarded by the Department of Architecture and Heritage. Known for the quality of its 'art de vivre', the region also has the reputation of having the purest accent and of being 'the cradle of the French language.' This is where we spend two weeks of total immersion in French language and culture at the University of Angers. This course provides the linguistic and cultural skills to fully appreciate this unique region of France. Details of this event may be subject to change.
