Strawberry Fair has become an integral part of the festival calendar over the last 30 years, and is set on a lovely site (strictly no camping though!) by the river in the centre of Cambridge. In 2009 the FREE event will take place on Saturday 6th June with no early closure.

The line-up will be published in the official programme, which is available from the Info Stands, during the day. There are two Info Stands, one by the Four Lamps, where the footpaths meet, near Maids Causeway. The other is by the Green Area, not far from the Fort St. George public house.

Expect around five stages hosting local and festival-circuit bands. As well as the spectacle of the colourful procession through Cambridge city centre which opens the event, there is plenty of entertainment with free face-painting and circus skills sessions for kids, and for adults, as well as live music, a green area with performers and informers from a variety of green perspectives, fantastic markets with goods from all over the world, and of course, the obligatory beer tents with AUTHENTIC LOCAL ALE.

There's no parking at the site. There are car parks nearby (5 to 10 minutes walk) but they can be expensive (£2-ish an hour during the day).

For more information, see the Strawberry Fair website.
