The Wiesel Fuels team will give an overview of the history of bio-fuels, from Dr. Diesel's first experiments with peanut oil fuel in 1911 until the modern diesel engine technology. Using clear visual aids, we will examine the environmental and economic benefits behind the straight vegetable oil (SVO) fuel technology and detail the steps needed to convert a modern diesel engine. New engine components needed for the fuel system will be discussed with an emphasis on helping the Do-It-Yourself enthusiasts.

The Wiesel Team has successfully operated a school bus on Straight Vegetable Oil for 3 years and over 50,000km, crossing Canada twice to give workshops and help spread information about the technology: www.wiesel.ca.

Each potluck features prizes for best home-made vegan dishes, raffle, book/merchandise/membership table & sponsor table..
