Since 2003, Somali-born photographer Abdi Roble has documented the forced dispersal of the Somali population from their traditional homeland. The black-and-white photographs in this exhibition document the transition of Somali communities from Africa to the United States. The exhibition includes images of Somali communities in Minneapolis; Columbus, Ohio; and Maine--three of the largest Somali-American communities. Another photographic series traces one family's journey from the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya to their arrival in California and subsequent resettlement in Maine.
