Mozart and Beethoven would be blown away with this dynamic and instrumental movement class. This course will run over two sessions and begin with lessons on safe dance and how anatomy relates to dance and movement. Students will then explore music abstractly through movement based on contemporary tap dancing. Participants will compose and perform dances using rhythm, pitch, sound, percussion and everyday objects. Students examine the elements of dance, movement in co-ordinated formations and the use of space and time. This course allows students to think 'outside the box' where they are only limited to their imagination. It is an energetic class for students in Years 3 to 6. No tap dancing experience is required as it is tailored for beginners as well as students with years of tap dancing experience who would like to understand more about rhythm and movement in a fun and social environment. This course is suitable for students in Years 3 to 6. Details of this event may be subject to change. Please visit http://cce.sydney.edu.au/course/stda for more information or to register.
