The purpose of the Society is to foster interest in and promote the general knowledge of astronomy and related sciences. Whether your level of interest in the night sky is casual or serious, you will find many other members with similar interests. Although the membership includes many serious amateur astronomers, and a couple of professionals, most members do not own telescopes but enjoy membership simply to satisfy a general curiosity about the night sky and about the cycles of our solar system which affect our daily lives.
