Stitch in Vine: Botanical Quilts April 25, 2008

This exhibition presents botanically themed contemporary quilts handmade by artists of the Chesapeake & Potomac Applique Guild. The meticulously crafted works of art include a diversity of design - from the charming patterns found in the distinctive "Baltimore Album" quilts of the mid-19th century, to modern-day designs showcasing flowers, fruits, and vegetables, to a landscape resembling an Impressionist's painting.
