STEVE HOROWITZ AND THE CODE ENSEMBLE The Re-Taking of Pelham One Two Three, with Invasion from the Chicken Planet January 29, 2010

Steve Horowitz and The Code Ensemble perform their riveting and original re-imagining of David Shire’s classic crime-jazz score for the 1974 film The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. In addition, The Code breaks into an audio demolition derby of science fiction film music in Invasion from the Chicken Planet, with the mayhem coming to an end with Horowitz’s 2nd String Quartet and a set of works by Randy Hostetler. The concert is preceded by a panel discussion with the composer and his collaborators.
