Brothers Stephen and Jim Bennett will join musical abilities in their first-ever duo concert on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland Street. Tickets for the shows are $15 for adults, $12 with student ID and $7 for those under 16, and can be ordered with Visa or MasterCard by calling (757) 259-4070. This is another in the library's Dewey Decibel Concert Series.

Stephen, who routinely plays his music around the world, is a familiar face on the Hampton Roads music scene. Acclaimed Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel calls Stephen the most important acoustic guitarist in America. Stephen is particularly noted for his mastery of the harp guitar and for performances on the steel guitar.

Jim plays piano with the same intensity that Stephen plays his various guitars. Jim has been making music for most of his life, and has performed in some interesting places: modern dance and ballet class, private clubs, churches and a few concert halls. Among Jim's musical influences are Scott Joplin, Thomas "Fats" Waller, and Dave Brubeck. His first recording - original arrangements of various hymn tunes - is due for release soon.

Jim will add some of his compositions to Stephens repertoire that will create a mixture of original acoustic music, ranging from rollicking to reflective. The musical interplay resulting from the combined efforts of these two talented siblings will delight and move audiences.
