Nakasian is recognized as one of the important jazz singers in the world today. She first came to international attention in the 1980s when she sang and toured with the vocal jazz group led by the legendary Jon Hendricks. Since then, she has appeared on numerous radio and television programs and performed around the world. She has toured and recorded as a leader and with her partner and internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Hod O'Brien.
