When you’re in the midst of launching your own startup, it’s easy to get caught up in the hype. Christian Vanek is a successful entrepreneur who says that almost everything you’ve heard about starting a new business is wrong. He started his business without bank loans or venture capital and today his 5-year old online software company is on-track to bring in over $5M in sales this year.

There are many myths surrounding startups and Vanek is setting out to debunk them. He doesn't believe a written business plan or investment capital is required to start a business. A bootstrapped business needs to balance all the demands on financial resources carefully, and it is important to know what can wait and what requires immediate attention.

Vanek will tell you how he’d go about launching a startup in today’s environment, given all he’s learned, and he’ll be frank about the growing pains that come with doubling his company's headcount year over year. He welcomes questions and friendly debate during this informal presentation.
