For those who’ve been following the gleaming pop career of Montreal spawned quintet Stars – signed to seminal Canadian label Arts & Crafts – an Australian tour has been a long time coming. And now with the release of their fourth album, In Our Bedroom After The War, indie rock dreams will finally come true as Stars make their way to Australia for the first time in February 2008.
In Our Bedroom After The War is Stars’ newest and most ambitious full-length album. Self-recorded by the band – Evan Cranley, Amy Millan (both members of Broken Social Scene), Torquil Campbell, Chris Seligman and Pat McGee, last spring at Vancouver’s Warehouse recording studio, the album was made amidst an atmosphere of unprecedented synergy and self-belief.
Simultaneously ambiguous, intimate, troubled, and peaceful; In Our Bedroom After The Warevokes the power of romance to eclipse everything that conspires to destroy it, and the sadness that remains in the calm aftermath of conflict.
