The event starts with an Astronomy Exhibition including mobile planetarium shows (doors open at 5.30 pm) followed by a lecture at 7.00 pm in the Shepherd Hall entitled "What 700,000 people can tell us about the Universe" by Dr Chris Lintott, Reader in the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford and co-presenter of the BBC's Sky at Night. This will be followed by the opportunity to look through telescopes courtesy of York Astronomical Society (weather permitting).
Please feel free to bring along your own telescopes and if you are not sure how to use them, help will be available.
Admission is free, but tickets are required. Light refreshments provided.
