Stand With Israel July 6, 2010

The American revolutionaries who founded the USA, stepped forward in the face of personal danger and pledged their all to create a new world; they, then, put their money where their mouth was and, after years of struggle, prevailed against greatly disproportionate odds. I ask those of you in the San Francisco Bay Area, to also step forward for Israel this coming week, and for we Jews.
On Tuesday, July 6th, at the Israeli Consulate, on the corner of Montgomery St. and Sacramento St., San Francisco, ANSWER and other hateful groups will have another demonstration against Israel and against Jews. We, of San Francisco Voice for Israel, an organization begun By Alex Fleigler, and associated with Stand With Us, are turning out to counter-demonstrate the Israel-haters/ Jew-haters. The hours are 4:00 p.m. (which means more like 4:30) to 6:00 p.m.
I invite all supporters and defenders of Israel and of Jews, to join us. We will have extra signs and flags of Israel and of the United States to supply to all who are willing to come out into the open and do something active in our mutual behalf. The location is a short walk from the Montgomery BART station.
While counter-demonstrati ng shows limited results, I suggest that it is one of several important means of letting the world know that Israel has, and is worthy of, support. The few seconds of television news and media time that are devoted to us, show that our side is not silent. In our absence, Jews and Israel and the entire "other side of the argument" will be absent from the one-sided, hateful and false message that Americans will receive. Therefore, I suggest that it is vital that Israel and Jews be represented at such events or else, to the public, our side will not be seen to exist and only the haters will have their say.
