Since June 2007, Security Officers Bay Area have been struggling since June to win a new contract that will end poverty wages, provide affordable health care and insure security companies respect their legal rights! Since then…

On Wednesday, September 26th, bargaining finally resumed for three days after a series of actions but the contract is not yet resolved. As a result of continuing pressure, negotiations will begin again on Thurs. Oct 4 and Fri Oct 5th and we intend to do whatever it takes to resolve this dispute once and for all!
This is what we’ve been up to!

· The Stand for Security Coalition representing hundreds of elected officials, clergy and organizations across California have called for justice for the security officers in the Bay Area.
· The Board of Supervisors passed a resolution on Tuesday, Sept 25 calling on building owners and contractors to respect workers rights and end the double standards.
· The Mayor of San Francisco, in a public statement on Monday called for dispute resolution.
· The California Legislative Black Caucus issued a report on the double standards in the security industry that security officers in the Bay Area face every day.
· The San Francisco Labor Council sanctioned the unfair labor practice strike whereby 150 affiliated labor unions honored security officer picket lines throughout the financial district.
· Hundreds of workers and community allies joined the picket lines in striking building across the financial district for over three days!

Our whole community is standing strong with security officers who are demanding respect for their rights and area ready to do whatever it takes to win a fair and just contract!
