2008 Free Classic Film Series with Howie Movshovitz

Presented by the Tattered Cover and Colorado Public Radio, join Colorado Public Radio film critic Howie Movshovitz as he introduces and leads discussions of classic films.

All screenings take place at Starz FilmCenter in Denver at 900 Auraria Parkway. Events are free and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

June 7: Stagecoach (John Ford, 1939, 96 minutes)
An extraordinary western – Ford’s first with Monument Valley locations – about a diverse group of western types riding the stage from Tonto to Lordsburg. It’s not an unusual story, but the filming is among the greatest work in the history of film. With (a wonderfully young) John Wayne, Thomas Mitchell, Claire Trevor, John Carradine, Donald Meek and Andy Devine.
