Stacy Clark grew up in a musical family on Grand Island, New York. She taught herself to play the guitar at 15 and began performing at open mic nights, including a popular one at local club Nietzsche’s. She eventually embarked on a national tour at age 19 during which she travelled across the country alone for two months. She moved to Orange County upon graduation and soon released her first EP Unusual in 2006, which scored her an award for Best Female Performer at the 2006 Southern California Music Awards. This was followed by the release of her 2007 full-length Apples and Oranges, thereafter clinching Best Female Performer at the 2007 Orange County Music Awards with a win this year for Best Pop Artist.

Her quirky blend of folk-pop, electronica, and dance music, and the honesty in her songwriting, have seen music critics comparing her to the likes of Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap, Rachel Yamagata, Rilo Kiley, Paramore, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Zooey Deschanel. Clark’s charmingly idiosyncratic voice and heartfelt lyrics have also won over several of television’s top music supervisors, many whom have featured songs from Apples and Oranges on hit shows as One Tree Hill, The Hills, The Buried Life, Girlfriends, Make It Or Break It, Samurai Girl, The Rachel Zoe Project and The Price of Beauty.

Clark landed the iTunes "Single of the Week" for her song "White Lies" that did over 420,000 downloads, putting her at the no. 7 spot ahead of Lady Gaga for top record sales in a day.
