St. Vincent, the touring/recording name of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Annie Clark, is a one-woman phenom. Formerly a member of joyous indie pop collective The Polyphonic Spree, as well as a member of Sufjan Stevens’ touring band, St. Vincent sounds like absolutely nothing else. From wry, tongue-in-cheek kiss-offs to acoustic power-pop, St. Vincent’s debut album, Marry Me, is a magical, pitch-perfect marriage of acoustic, coffeehouse aesthetic and electric ambition.
