TOPIC: Next generation outsourcing : The software factory.

ABSTRACT of the session -
The session would discuss the concepts of software factory, what it means vis-a-vis traditional software development approaches and vis-a-vis more mature industries like traditional manufacturing. We would also discuss the challenges involved and the implication on the talent pool. The session would be interactive in nature and there would be a Q&A session towards the end.

SPEAKER: Uday Bhaskarwar

PROFILE of Speaker:

Uday Bhaskarwar is the founder and CEO of Thinking Hut – a consulting, product and services company with special focus on the education space. He is an IT professional with over 18 years of global experience. He is a B. Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering from IIT-BHU.
He has worked across delivery, relationship management and sales for various clients across Americas, Europe and Asia.

He started his career as a software engineer with Infosys and worked across different roles to be a delivery manager. His stint in delivery at Infosys gave him excellent exposure to process and quality aspects. He was involved with the CMM, CMMi and ISO 9001 initiatives. He is also a certified IFPUG estimator.

In his last corporate role, he was Vice President and Head of Sales with India Business of Infosys. His focus was emerging/sunrise sectors which include – Retail, Logistics, Healthcare & Education – amongst others.

He had led the DHL/DP, relationship for Infosys for close to 10 years. DP/DHL was one of the largest clients of Infosys.

During his long tenure at Infosys, Uday worked across the continents, helped build large teams, handled very large accounts and helped penetrate new geographies.
