Shattuck Ave at Rose & Virginia

UPDATE 2: The event organizer had the date wrong according to the sponsor, it really is 10/8 (it switched back and forth a couple of times).

The 4th Annual
North Berkeley Spice of Life Festival
Shattuck Avenue ~ Virginia to Rose
Berkeley, CA
Berkeley's North Shattuck Avenue is considered to be the birthplace of California Cuisine. The concept of fresh, organic farm food (Chez Panisse), freshly roasted coffee beans (Peets), imported cheeses and freshly baked bread (The Cheeseboard) all originated in what has been known to be called the "Gourmet Ghetto". The area has a tradition of exquisite retail, dining and the arts for over 30 years!

In its fourth year, the Festival savors the "Spice of Life" with a wide range of cooking demos and tastings by popular neighborhood chefs and restaurants paired up with producers from our local all-organic farmers market, sampling of gourmet foods, and wine and beer tasting.

The Festival features live music on three stages, including jazz, bluegrass, old time favorites, and world music. Other activities will include dance performances, book signings, and bodywork, acupressure and yoga demonstrations.

Kidtopia offers puppet shows, pony rides, farm animals and kids crafts activities. Other vendors and exhibitors will include artisans & crafters, health practitioners and local schools and non-profit organizations.

Don't miss the YogaKula Healing Arts Tent at Bank of America featuring Yoga, Pilates and Meditation, information and demonstrations, free massages all day, South Asian Traditional Music Concert featuring Ferhan Qureshi (tabla) and Kamal Haider (sitar).

benflowz, visit the site and contact the organizers! My sweetie's band performed there last year. I just updated the date and filled in details because they changed the date of the event.
