Smudging Feathers and Techniques

In a series of classes we will bring you some of the more representative Native American tools and traditions. As we believe in and support all spiritual paths, we hope to enrich your cultural experiences and understanding.

The first class in this three part series will be about the smudging feathers and techniques that have proven most effective over time.
We will cover the history of smudging, the types of herbs that are used and for what purpose and the use(s) of the smudging feather.

In addition, you will be given the opportunity to create your own smudging feather in the class. This has always proven to be fun and an easy craft for all members of the family to participate in.

This class will be conducted by Dan Vorheis who is a member of our staff but is not of Native American decent. He has studied many Native American cultures, tools and history.

Cost: $30.00 (includes all supplies for creating your own smudging feather)
