Rocking the Midwest for the last seven years, SPEAKEASY is bringing its original roots rock to new levels. Touring from Colorado to the Carolinas and many stops in between, they have gradually gained a reputation among their growing audience for their tasteful songwriting backed up by pull-no-punches rock and roll. The backbone features guitarist Shawn Eckels, bassist Reed Herron and drummer Ryan Fannin engaging in straight ahead groove-oriented progressive rock. Marcus Chatman adds texture to the SPEAKEASY format with an amazing repertoire that includes organ, keyboard, cello, trumpet, harmonica, percussion, sousaphone, and vocal.
SPEAKEASY has released three studio albums and a brand new live album, EN FUEGO, produced by Lou Whitney (Big Smith, The Morrells) that demonstrates their unique songwriting style and intense energy that can only be found in the live setting. Playing national festivals like Wakarusa 2004 & 2005 (Lawrence, KS) and Voodoo Fest 2005 (Memphis, TN) and with accomplished bands like the North Mississippi All-Stars, Umphrey’s McGee, the Samples, and many more. 2006 will be an exciting year for SPEAKEASY with much rock to come.

Continuous touring has brought SPEAKEASY to new crowds and new towns where they continue to gather an ever-expanding, enthusiastic fan-base. The high-energy musician ship and soaring three-part vocals have come to be affectionately known as harmony with balls.
