Written by Stephen Temperley Based on the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York socialite, who gave a series of legendary charity concerts in the 30s and 40s that were most notable for her complete and total inability to recognize pitch, key or tone, Souvenir begins as her music director, Cosme McMoon, now performing at a piano bar, reminisces about his twelve years with Madame Flo. At times hilarious, this play with music is a touching “fantasia” that celebrates the triumph of the human spirit and the resilience of true friendship.
