Award-winning photographer Carol Eastman will present an illustrated lecture on Southwestern photography at the Las Cruces Museum of Art on Saturday, September 18 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Carol Eastman holds a Master of Arts degree in Art Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. She studied at the Eastman Kodak School of Photography in Maine; the Fechin Institute in Taos, New Mexico; the Sedona Art Center in Arizona; and the School for Arts and Crafts in San Antonio, Texas.

Her photographs, writing, and illustrations have appeared in New Mexico Magazine, Nova Magazine, and The El Paso Times. She contributed photography and narratives for two documentaries on Native American art and directed the publication of two catalogs on Native American jewelry for the Museum of Northern Arizona. Eastman’s most recent exhibit, Visual Voices, includes photographs and stories about children along the United States/Mexico border.

New gallery hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The Museum of Art is closed Sunday through Monday.
