The world of Gluck and Mozart shine musical light on The Huntington exhibition of Samuel Johnson, the second most quoted author in the English language after Shakespeare. Orfeo III interprets that world as we fete the 80th birthday of Thea Musgrave, who broke numerous gender barriers in classical music. The concert opens with a nod toward the young opera titan, Giachino Rossini, and closes with one of the most beloved chamber works of Mozart.
