Southport Staple Jack's Bar & Grill Gets A Makeover February 16, 2011

Lincoln Park neighborhood hangout, Jack’s Bar & Grill, located at 2856 N. Southport Ave., is thrilled to announce the revamp of its look and menu with help from Chicago-based, Big Onion Tavern Group. Jack’s has added cozy booths (with plugs for your cell phones!), 21 flat-screen televisions, a new sound system, an expanded bar, and an even wider selection of craft beers on tap, in the bottle, and can. A recharged menu makes its debut February 28th. They have added 5 more draft lines and over 20 more selections in bottles and cans.

Classic, comfort foods are the focus of the refreshed menu including Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, Baked Mac ‘n Cheese, “Ma’s Open Faced Meatloaf Sandwich”, and Apple Pot Pie a la mode. Jack’s features various appetizer and entrée specials each day including 50 cent wings on Mondays, $5 burgers on Tuesdays, $5 wraps, salads, and fish tacos on Wed, $7 Pizzas on Thursdays, and ½ price appetizers until 9 on Fridays. Jack’s serves up daily drink specials, $10 Pitchers on Mondays, $3 drafts on Tuesdays, $5 martinis on Wednesday , $15 beer buckets on Thursdays, $5 Jameson shots and Bacardi bombs on Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays, brunch is served. Challah French Toast and Jack’s Signature Hangover Burrito, both $9 each, are just a couple of the favorites, along with a variety of skillets for $10. A $7 Bloody Mary Bar and $10 Bottomless Mimosas round out the menu.

Jack’s prides itself on being an “American Craft Beer House and Comfort Eatery”. Bartenders can put together custom beer flights of their craft beers. Customers can enjoy their selections at the bar, comfy booths, or sociable lounge area. During the frosty months, patrons can cozy up to the fireplace and stay awhile.

In warm weather months, Jack’s offers the quintessential Chicago patio complete with a full outdoor bar, fireplace, and many flat-screen televisions. When the big game isn’t on, a Bags game is available for friends and strangers alike to challenge each other to some friendly competition. Other summer events include live entertainment, a pig roast, and the Movies on the Patio series.

Jack’s is a great venue for private parties. Jack’s offers event packages for all celebrations—birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and anniversaries.
