Southern Pacific Smokehouse, the newly opened American grill in Novato, is also Marin County’s premier live music venue and they will host an Emerging Music Showcase on Thursday, September 8.

Performances will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Jenefer Taylor, followed by Lara Johnston at 8:15 p.m., and McKenna Faith at 9:30 p.m. The cover charge for the evening’s entertainment will be $20.00 and performances will take place in the Smokehouse Lounge.

Jenefer Taylor, known for her radiating passion and electric charm, has a list of vocal credits that includes performances of the national anthem for the San Francisco Giants at Pacific Bell Park, at the Oakland Golden State Warriors basketball arena, the Oakland A’s baseball stadium and for NASCAR at Infineon Raceway. As a Miss Teenage California finalist, she won the “Vocal Accomplishment Award”. Her career received a major boost when she began working with one of the world’s most sought after mix engineers and producers, Rob Chiarelli, who has worked on multi-platinum albums by Will Smith, Quincy Jones, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Luther Vandross, Puffy, Jesse McCartney, LeAnn Rimes, Yolanda Adams, Ray Charles and Janet Jackson, as well as film soundtracks including Men In Black I and II.

Lara Johnston, daughter of Tom Johnston from the Doobie Brothers, is a Bay Area native with a powerful voice and fiery, captivating stage presence. As early as age two she was on stage with the Dobbie Brothers and subsequently traveled with the band. This experience plus exposure to a wide range of musical styles – from Stevie Wonder to Dr. John to Aretha Franklin – has resulted in a passion for singing and the pursuit of a musical career at an early age.

McKenna Faith is a 16 year old country music singer/songwriter from Ukiah, California who grew up in the rodeo circuit singing the national anthem. She more recently won the teen and adult divisions at Ukiah Idol and was the “Peoples Choice” in the Rising Stars competition. She recorded her fist album, Sugar & Spice, in Nashville in 2010 and has been touring since with many concerts sold out.
