SOUTHERN HOSTILITY: DERBY CITY ROLLERGIRLS VS. BLUE RIDGE ROLLERGIRLS

Louisville Takes on Asheville, NC at the Kentucky Expo Center's West Hall, Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 at 7 p.m.

Louisville's women's flat track roller derby league, the Derby City Rollergirls, are back for their second home bout of their second season, in a showdown titled SOUTHERN HOSTILITY. Following their explosive season-opening win against the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana, DCRG will face the Blue Ridge Rollergirls of Asheville, North Carolina on Saturday, March 22nd at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center's West Hall (937 Phillips Lane).

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the bout will start at 7 p.m. Seating is General Admission. The event is all-ages and family-friendly, though rink-side "suicide seats" are reserved for 18+ due to safety concerns. DCRG's official DJ Kim Sorise will be spinning music before and during the bout, and belly dancers from the Phoenix Dance Collective will provide entertainment between the three periods of play. And as always, the league will have all their branded merchandise for sale, including stickers, buttons, patches, posters, t-shirts and other apparel.

Advance tickets are available now via Ticketmaster for $10 (plus service fee). Tickets may be purchased at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) Ticket Office or any Ticketmaster outlet, by phone (502-361-3100 or 1-800-487-1212), or online via Ticketmaster.com. Tickets at the door on the day of the event will cost $15. Since DCRG's last bout sold out, capacity has been increased for Southern Hostility, but advance tickets are still recommended, as hundreds were turned away at the door last time and this bout is also likely to sell out.

After the bout, DCRG players will meet-and-greet at the official after-party at the Monkey Wrench (1025 Barret Ave @ Winter). Bout attendees get in free with their ticket stubs and there's a suggested $3 donation at the door for all others, with proceeds going to Kosair Children's Hospital. DJ Kim Sorise will again provide musical entertainment.
