South Florida Symphony Orchestra's Master Concert Series IV Featuring The SIMA Trio March 3, 2011

The SIMA Trio joins the South Florida Symphony to perform compositions by Pulitzer Prize-winner Ellen Taafe Zwilich. Praised for "powerful" and "heartfelt" interpretations of classical and ethnic repertoire, the SIMA Trio is quickly becoming one of the leading young trios of its generation. In this chamber series, the musicians will perform Miami's own composer extraordinaire Zwilich's Septet for Piano Trio and String Quartet. From contemporary to classic, the virtuosi turn toward Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, a kaleidoscope of Italian-influenced harmony and rhythm and Brahms's Sextet No. 2, one of the best-loved works in the chamber music repertoire.
