Sounds Like Art May 6, 2010

Through paintings, drawings and sculptures, artists are taking what we hear with our ears and making it something we see with our eyes. Some artists “imagine” colors that follow the music they hear, while others use the actual musical instruments or the likeness of the musicians that produce songs as the inspiration for their artwork. In addition to seeing the visual work of the artists, “Sounds Like Art” will include music-making activities using musical instruments including one device that lets everyone make music using laser beams. In the gallery will be exciting art making activities based on the music art presented.
