Ladies and Gents.....A month has passed already and once again it's time to witness that which is SOUNDNOSOUND...
Consistently diverse, this one promises to be a real purler!

PIMMON:- Paul Gough is Pimmon.
The sound of Pimmon? Buzzes and blips, distorted rumbles, ghosts of melody, radar pulses, glitched ambience all are melted into an unpredictable slab of sound that fluctuates on and off.
He has released a diverse body of work on labels such as Meme, Fallt, Staalplaat, and his 2003 album Snaps*Crackles*Pops on Tigerbeat6. Receiving critical acclaim both here and abroad for his uniquely identifiable work that challenges and intrigues. Catching Pimmon in his hometown can be all too rare, don't miss this.

PURE EVIL TRIO:- They like noise. And tofu... Come witness their harmoniously discordant sounds of pure combustive mayhem.

TIDES:- Sometimes a band comes along that is of an altogether different species from the rest of the bands, and their self percieved 'unique' brand of music kicking around the local scene. Tides may well be a different species, none
of them except the drummer has been definitively shown to be human by the means of conventional genetic testing. Tides play a style of music best described by cliched nautical metaphor, a style of prose, vague, evocative, lacking verbs.
Which is not to say tides is a band who takes cues from expectation. Which is, not to say they won't be unoriginal. Indeed, this may be that which is moreso a reflection on the intrinsic inability of this band to understand the concept of the double standard. I say this not in a musical sense. The sense that cannot be aptly described in the florid, overenthusiastic pen of even the liveliest journalistic ingenue. that's not what i'm even talking about.

Well, that's it for another month..
Hope to see you all there!

Oh yeah.... it's at the Lansdowne Hotel (Cnr Broadway & City Rd, Chippendale) on
February 13th from 5-9pm.

Love from SamAnnaMarkSteve.
