The Box gallery is a proud sponsor of the soundDowntown 2008 live painting exhibition on the Second Street Promenade in the Santa Ana Artists Village. Featuring urban artists, including MEEXONE, Vincent “Hearsee” Calanoc, Pat Conlon, the Mighty Zulu Kingz (MZK), and Michael Pukac, the performance will involve traditional painting, live street art, and an interactive multi-media LED graffiti installation. The outdoor urban art exhibition promises to be challenging and inspirational for all ages. Live painting begins at 2 PM until 6 PM. The Hearsee UV installation will begin at twilight until 8 PM. soundDowntown 2008 is a one-day music festival on Saturday, November 15, featuring a lineup of over 50 locally and nationally recognized bands, DJ's and performing artists at various venues throughout the Artist's Village of downtown Santa Ana.

Preferred advance tickets are $10 and general admission is $15 day-of. Event tickets will allow patrons to enter all local venues (some 21 and over) curated with entertainment. Venue capacity will range from 50 to 800, so suggested arrival times will vary. Advance tickets are now on sale at www.sounddowntown.com.

The Box gallery is a collaboration between director and curator Johnny Sampson and Splitends owner and stylist Christopher Hall. It is a multi-use space, combining a minimal boutique salon with a contemporary art gallery.
