Sound Unseen is a festival for music lovers which is based in Mpls and now tours the world. Music documentaries, rare concert footage, and interactive cinema is showcased alongside live music from new bands and musicians.

Join me this Friday at 6:30pm I will give a short performance before the screening of "Downtown Locals."

About Downtown Locals:
The Muir sisters remarkable film documents six subway performers as they struggle to earn a living and defend their right to perform in New York Citys increasingly regulated underground. Among those who will alternately haunt, inspire, and occasionally madden the viewer are the Mercury Man, a struggling actor who stands motionless for hours at a time; Julio, a Colombian immigrant who dances with a life-sized doll attached to his shoes; and Helen, a Vassar graduate who in her forties reinvents herself as an accordion-playing chanteuse. Each weathers a rollercoaster year of personal successes and defeatsabout as far from spoiled rock stars as possible, these artists define the meaning of underground. Dowtown Locals provides a searing exploration of various aesthetic, moral, and political boundariesbetween authenticity and absurdity, honesty and delusion, freedom and nothing left to lose. In the process, it manages to be laugh-out-loud-funny, deeply insightful, and heartbreaking.

Also on Friday, "The Haves Have It" will be performing for the screening of "Wasted Orient."
