Jimbo Trout and the Fish People, soul band Lord Loves A Working Man and rhythm and blues band Blue Roots take the stage as part of Jimmy Sweetwater's Showcase Special at the Great American Music Hall, Friday June 30th,

Jimmy Sweetwater, of Jimbo Trout, has put together a night featuring two groups at the forefront of a new sound coming out of San Francisco's Mission District. This is a sound entrenched in roots music; however, while both pull from a deep knowledge of and reverence to the blues and soul traditions, this foundation isn't used to imitate, but rather as a launching point for heartrending, original music.
LORD LOVES A WORKING MAN has been garnering attention and critical acclaim for discarding glossy production and smooth synthesizers, harkening back to the gritty era of the 60's Southern soul shouters, with timeless songwriting, screaming horns, tube-crackling electric organ, lots of sweat, and above all, a tight groove to dance to.

JIMBO TROUT AND THE FISH PEOPLE who have been inciting Bay Area audiences to dancing fits for years add their eclectic mixture of washboard driven foot stomping jug/ bluegrass/swamp blues to the evening.

THE BLUE ROOTS deliver a quality of sound and performance that is rarely found in this day and age. They revert music back to its irreverent sources of many decades ago. This passionate four person ensemble effortlessly span the genres of blues, New Orleans jazz, gospel, and soul - flowing seamlessly between classic covers and finely crafted originals.
