Sons of Kemet + Anton Hunter Trio July 19, 2012

A double delight of a concert as Manchester Jazz Festival present the earthy, vital music of Sons of Kemet with a special guest slot from Anton Hunter Trio.

Sons of Kemet is the brainchild of young reeds player and Radio 3 New Generation Artist Shabaka Hutchings, whose music is loud, earthy, vital, and refreshingly rough-edged at times but surprisingly danceable.

Opening the evening is a short set from the Manchester guitarist Anton Hunter, debuting brand new material at the borders of composition and improvisation.
