Sonny Smith’s ‘100 Records' exhibition and SFTOC Launch party April 28, 2011

We are very pleased to announce the European premiere of artist/musician Sonny Smith’s ‘100 Records’ exhibition. Sonny Smith is lead singer of Sonny & the Sunsets, who will be performing on the Comfortable on the Tightrope stage at this year’s festival.

Having devised 100 fictional bands with 7” singles, Sonny invited a range of artists to respond to the imaginary music, making individual record covers. Having developed the 100 record sleeves, Sonny subsequently collaborated with musicians to make the non-existent music a reality. A play on musical characters and band attitudes, the resulting records are a fusion of genres blurring the boundary between reality, fantasy and fiction.
