In describing Sonny Landreth, the term "musician's musician" comes up repeatedly. Best known for his stunning slide guitar work, he's an acknowledged favorite among musicians and has been particularly important to John Hiatt's longtime road collaborators, The Goners. Rootsy soulster Pat McLaughlin has gone from playing Motown covers in Iowa to becoming a critically acclaimed Nashville singer/songwriter/guitar player who's songs have been recorded by everyone from Alan Jackson and Tanya Tucker to Taj Majal. Pat played guitar for Tiny Town (featuring members of the Subdudes,) as well as releasing his own solo albums since the late '80s and has become a Chicago favorite.
