Songs By Bengal's Performing Arts Heritage April 10, 2009

A three-day cultural extravaganza titled 'A Panorama of Bengal’s Performing Arts Heritage'. Inauguration ceremony by Shri Jawahar Sircar, Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Dr. Kavita A. Sharma, Director, India International Centre (IIC). Performances for the day are:
1. 'Traditional Epic of Bengal – Manasa Mangal in Kathakatha Style' presented by Dr. Ashish Ghosh and group from Delhi,
2. 'Theaterer Gaan – Immortal Songs of Classic Bengali Plays' by Suranjana Dasgupta and group from Kolkata and
3. 'Sufi Tradition of Bengal – Songs of Lalan Fakir, Bauls' by Chandana Majumdar from Dhaka.
